TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — An attorney for a state agency is facing multiple charges after FDLE searched his Tallahassee home and found a 'life-like' child sex doll and child pornography inside.
According to an arrest report, the FDLE Regional Operations Center in Tallahassee discovered an IP address that had been uploading child pornography to the internet from an apartment in Tallahassee.
Through an investigation, agents determined that the pornography originated from 48-year-old David Aring.
Documents say FDLE searched Aring's apartment on Southwood Plantation Road on Tuesday.
During the search, agents found a USB storage device that had at least 10 files of child pornography saved on it, According to FDLE, some of the videos on the device depicted children as young as 3 years old.
The arrest report said that agents also found a "life-like nude child silicon doll" poised in a seated position at the foot of Aring's bed. Agents said the 3-feet tall doll resembled a young child and "appeared to have been recently used."
"It was evident based on the totality of the circumstances and the fact that [child pornography] digital files were located that [Aring] was using the child like doll for sexual gratification purposes," investigators wrote in the arrest report.
Based on the evidence, Aring, who worked for the Florida Department of Busineess and Professional Regulation, was arrested and charged with 10 counts of promoting child pornography and one count of possession of obscene material.
Aring was granted pretrial release by a judge on Wednesday.
