JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — Jackson County deputies seen an increase in car break-ins and thefts over the weekend and are now urging residents to protect themselves by locking their car doors.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, deputies worked several vehicle burglaries in Dogwood Heights and Greenwood areas on Monday morning.
They say vehicles were left unlocked and firearms and other items were taken.
At this time, deputies are unsure if the vehicle burglaries are related.
Authorities are urging residents to lock their vehicles to avoid becoming easy targets to thieves.
