CRAWFORDVILLE, Fla. (WTXL) - — A Crawfordville couple is grieving from their hospital beds after losing their son in a car accident Friday.
Jill and Allen Shiver are still at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital recovering from what they call a freak accident Friday night. Now, there's these flags where it happened. Jill Shiver's ribs are broken, her lungs are bruised and she has soft tissue damage all over but the pain means nothing compared to the loss of her son, 20-year-old Trafton Shiver.
"He was always the one who took care of everybody else," said Jill Shiver. "He was always funny, so full of life. He never made a stranger. Everybody loved him."
The 20-year-old was behind the wheel of the Jeep Wrangler when they crashed on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Road Friday night. Shiver was stationed in Kings Bay Naval base but he would come home every weekend, just like this one. His mom said they were on their way back from dinner, right around the corner from their home when the crash happened.
Now, she wants people to remember the good-looking, sweet guy that he was.
"All the ladies loved him, everywhere he went. You know, he had those dimples in his cheeks like Ashton Kutcher and it was funny when all the friends would go out they would say he was the one that attracted everybody," said Jill Shiver.
The Shivers are still working on funeral arrangements.
