TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — The Tallahassee Police Department is investigating after a child was shot in the 2500 hundred block of Holton Street Saturday evening.
TPD says when officers arrived at the scene, they found a three-year-old child has been shot in the leg after a shooting near the Leon Arms Apartment Complex just after 8 p.m.
The officers immediately rendered aid to the child and applied a tourniquet to the wound. The child remains in stable condition, according to the report.
The investigation revealed the shooting was a result of a dispute, and the child was nearby when the incident occurred.
At this time, this is an open and active investigation.
TPD’s Violent Crimes Unit asks anyone who may have witnessed the incident but did not speak with an officer on the scene, or anyone with information about the shooting to please call 850-891-4200.
