VALDOSTA, Ga. — A Valdosta High senior class is mourning after a fellow classmate was shot and killed at a party over the weekend.

They're coming together Thursday for a candlelight vigil in honor of 18-year-old Desiyunna Hill.

Thursday night's vigil for Desiyunna Hill is being held at the church directly across the street from where the party was held Friday night.

We're told this was planned by one of her teachers and Hill had many friends and classmates who loved her. For them, Thursday is about sharing the happy memories they have of her.

And as family, friends and fellow classmates of Hill mourn over the loss of a life taken too soon, they will stand together for her.

Organizers are encouraging the senior class of 2020 to bring purple balloons. Everyone should bring a white candle.

The vigil starts at 7:00 p.m. in the Serenity Church parking lot.
