FRANKLIN COUNTY, Fla.(WTXL) — The Franklin County Sheriff's Office says they rescued four people who were stranded on a small boat with no motor on Friday evening.
Just before sunset on Friday, the Sheriff's Office responded to a boater in distress call with four people on board.
Authorities say the boat was located in the bay off the island bridge.
Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission also responded to assist.
When authorities arrived on scene, they found that four people were in a small aluminum boat with no motor.
Fortunately, the occupants were taken to the SGI boat ramp along with their boat and no one was injured.
FCSO wants to remind residents that the bay is not the place to go in a small boat with too many people and insufficient equipment.
