Wanted fugitive arrested in Taylor County

TAYLOR COUNTY, Fla. — The Taylor County Sheriff's Office said Mitchell Mims has been arrested and is in custody.

He was arrested with outstanding warrants for violating his probation of possessing a controlled substance and dealing in stolen property trafficking.

A manhunt is underway for a wanted fugitive in the Taylor County/Perry area.

Deputies from the Taylor County Sheriff's Office along with officers from the Perry Police Department are currently looking for a fugitive, Mitchell Mims, wanted for violating his probation of possessing a controlled substance and dealing in stolen property trafficking.

Authorities are in the area between US Highway 19 South, Industrial Drive and Puckett Road. TCSO K9, Perry Police K9 and the Taylor CI FLDOC K9 are all helping in looking for Mims.

According to TCSO, he was last seen running off Lewis Drive behind the Huddle House from Perry Police and was wearing grey pants, a blue shirt, and a blue hat. They said he will be barefoot because at some point in fleeing he left his shoes in the woods.

If you see Mims, please use caution and notify law enforcement ASAP.
