MOULTRIE, Ga. (WTXL) — A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection to a shooting in Moultrie last weekend.
On Thursday around 5:10 p.m., the Georgia Bureau of Investigation says Jared Tavaris Taylor, aka, “JT,” was arrested at his home in Moultrie in connection to a shooting in the 1000 Block of 7th St. NW on Nov. 9.
Police say the shooting happened just before 4 p.m. Witnesses say told police they found a man lying in a yard with a gunshot wound. He was later transported to an out of county trauma center.
Taylor is being charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. He is also being held on an outstanding probation warrant for unrelated charges.
Investigators also searched Taylor’s home after his arrest for the shooting. During the search, multiple weapons and ammo were found and seized.
Later on, GBI says they discovered some of the weapons were determined to be stolen. An investigation is ongoing into the stolen guns.
A suspect has not been arrested in connection to a drive-by shooting that killed 18-year-old Jayla Tranay Alexander later that same day.

Georgia authorities are investigating two shootings that left an 18-year-old woman dead and another person injured in Moultrie over the weekend.
Police say the first one happened just before 4 p.m. on Saturday in the 1000 block of 7th Street Northwest.
Witnesses say they found a man there lying in a yard with a gunshot wound. He was attended to by EMS and later transported to an out of county trauma center.
When WTXL last checked, he was still recovering in the hospital.
Police say they later received a call about a drive-by shooting at around 9 p.m. less than three miles away in the 800 block of 12th Avenue Southeast.
When they arrived on scene, they found a woman seriously injured. Police identified the victim as 18-year-old Jayla Tranay Alexander.
Police say she died shortly after getting to the hospital. When investigating the scene police say multiple rounds were fired at Alexander and others present at a residence.
Investigators conducted several searches throughout the night, processed several scenes related to the incidents and interviewed multiple witnesses.
Police say no arrests have been made at this time.
The two shootings are being reviewed to see if there are any connections that link the two cases. An autopsy is pending on the deceased woman at the GBI Crime Lab.
