Adel man arrested in connection to Valdosta woman’s murder

ADEL, Ga. (WTXL) — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Adel Police Department officers have arrested a man in connection to the murder of a Valdosta woman over the weekend.

According to GBI and APD investigators, at around 4 p.m. on Dec. 19, APD responded to the 1100 block of Birch Street in reference to a body found in a wooded area.

Upon officers’ arrival, they found a woman that was dead from apparent gunshot wounds.

Authorities identified the woman as Tenesha Mordon, 41, of Valdosta.

Later the same day, agents from GBI and officers from APD arrested and charged Lebray Berrian, 32, of Adel, with one count of felony murder, one count of aggravated assault, one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Berrian has been booked into Cook County Jail. As of Monday, he remains in custody.
