After two deputies tested positive last week, the Leon County Sheriff's office says five more deputies have tested positive for the coronavirus.
Since reporting the two COVID-19 positive deputies last week, LCSO says seven LCSO deputies have now tested positive for COVID-19.
Four positive results were received after the first two deputies tested positive followed by a fifth deputy, who was given a COVID-19 test a week ago.
The sheriff's office says the fifth deputy got the positive results back Monday, bringing the total to seven deputies overall.
Now, all of the deputies are self-isolating at home.
Additional deputies and staff who came into contact with the COVID-19 positive members are also self-isolating and undergoing COVID-19 tests.
"LCSO is continuing to work with the Florida Department of Health to identify and notify any others who may have had contact with these deputies," deputies wrote in a release published on Monday. "We also continue to monitor the impact of the exposures and take precautions to reduce the spread of the virus."
