TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Two Leon County Sheriff’s Office deputies tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday.

A statement released by LCSO says both deputies are self-isolating at home as well as several other deputies and staff who came into contact with the deputies and will be tested for the virus.

LCSO said it is working with the Florida Department of Health to identify and notify additional law enforcement members who may have had contact with the two deputies.

At this time, it is not known when or where the deputies contracted the coronavirus.

LCSO said they will continue to monitor the potential impact and take precautions to reduce the spread of the virus.

Temperature scans are taken of all who enter the LCSO administration building, as well as the Leon County Detention Facility, to monitor for possible infections.

Both buildings remain closed to the general public.
