JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — A 15-year-old girl is dead and two other teens have been hospitalized in serious condition after their ATV overturned in Jackson County.

The Florida Highway Patrol said that a Honda ATV was traveling north on Standland Road on Saturday around 7:30 p.m. when the ATV ran off the road to the east shoulder and hit with a concrete pipe.

After impact, troopers said the ATV went airborne and traveled through a wood fence.

It then overturned several times throwing all three of its riders off the vehicle.

The two passengers, a 14-year-old girl and a 13-year-old girl, were transported to Southeast Medical Center with serious injuries while the driver, a 15-year-old girl, was transported to Jackson Hospital where she later died from the injuries sustained in the crash.

None of the girls were wearing helmets at the time of the crash, the FHP report stated.
