(WTXL) - Some Big Bend counties are declaring local states of emergency in preparation for Subtropical Storm Alberto.
TAYLOR COUNTY:
The Taylor County Board of County Commissioners signed a local state of emergency Sunday morning for Subtropical Storm Alberto. Officials also issued a voluntary evacuation order for coastal areas.
LIBERTY COUNTY:
At 2 p.m., the Liberty County Board of County Commissioners voted to declare a local state of emergency. The area is anticipating 5 to 8 inches of rain and winds sustaining 40 mph.
The Liberty County Sheriff’s Office and Liberty County Emergency Management says they are making preparations to ensure they are prepared to respond to any impacts.
