LCSO said on Thursday morning, corrections deputies at the Leon County Detention Facility found 52-year-old Emanuell Gallaway unresponsive in his cell.

Gallaway was taken to the medical unit where he regained consciousness. LCSO stated staff called an ambulance to take Gallaway to the hospital, but he was pronounced dead on the way to the hospital.

Per agency policy, LCSO said investigation into Gallaway’s death was turned over to detectives from the Leon County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Unit.
