TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A Leon County School Board member has filed a complaint against the district.

Details are still very limited at this time. But a spokesperson for Leon County Schools confirms, the complaint was filed through the district's department of labor and employee relations.

This complaint was filed by Alva Swafford-Striplin against an employee of Deerlake Middle School.

We reached out to Swafford-Striplin. She's the Leon County School Board chair. She says she was advised to not comment as this is an ongoing investigation.

The district is conducting its own internal investigation.

Chris Petley, the Leon County Schools spokesperson sent us this statement saying, "Leon County Schools is in receipt of a complaint filed by Mrs. Swafford-Striplin to our employee relations department. As this is an ongoing review, further comments will not be made at this time."

WTXL has requested a copy of the complaint, but Chris Petley says it won't be available until the investigation is complete.
