TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Tallahassee Kickball Association held a special fundraiser Thursday night to help one of its founding members who suffered sudden cardiac arrest Sunday while vacationing in Spain with his girlfriend.
30-year-old Trevor Swiggard was placed in a medically-induced coma after complications from an unknown heart condition. His mother said he was since awakened, but there's still a long way to go before he and Lauren can return home.
The fundraiser was held at Krewe de Gras Midtown Tavern, with participants raising $765 to help with medical bills and other expenses.
Swiggard's family is hoping to raise $25,000, a total that had to be increased due to anticipated additional time in the hospital and the costs of health insurance in another country. To donate, click HERE.
