(WTXL) - With President Donald Trump's endorsement, Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp beat Lieutenant Governor Casey Cagle in the GOP runoff for governor.
Kemp has credited the White House's endorsement for helping to seal his victory.
Though the results were still unofficial Tuesday night, Cagle conceded and asked his supporters to stand behind Kemp's bid for governor.
Kemp will now face Democrat Stacey Abrams in November.
The winner will become the 83rd governor of Georgia
Abrams could become the country's first black female governor.
Abrams responded to Kemp's victory with a tweet, asking supporters to stand behind her vision of Georgia.
Abrams and Kemp have sparred in the past over election security and voting rights.
In the secretary of state position, unofficial results show Brad Raffensperger wins in the Republican runoff race.
Raffensperger of Johns Creek defeated former Alpharetta mayor David Belle Isle.
He will take on Democratic U.S. Rep. John Barrow in November.
In the race for the Lt. Gov. GOP nominee, voters chose between David Shafer and Geoff Duncan.
As of now, the race is too close to call.
The winner will face Democratic nominee Sarah Riggs Amico in the general election.
And in the Democratic race for school superintendent Otha Thornton Jr. has been chosen by the voters to challenge Georgia's Republican state schools chief in November.
Thornton of Richmond Hill defeated Sid Chapman of Griffin.
