Tallahassee, Fla. (WTXL) - Green Party Events celebrates its Grand Opening with an edible Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.

Green Party Events opens a new location in Railroad Square March 3rd. Their contribution to the monthly First Friday Gallery Hop is a 32-foot ribbon cake.

Guests are invited to enjoy slice of their ribbon and a taste of their unique full-service event planning techniques.

Coordinators Larena Fleck and Jodi WIlkof pride themselves on their creative solutions to post-event waste reduction. Wilkof says they measure how much waste is collected after each event they host, and that they are "proud to have reached the milestone of diverting more than a ton of waste that would have reached local landfills."

The duo encourages party-planners to think differently about how they can repurpose leftover party favors from the beginning of the planning process. They connect their guests with charities and hospices who welcome the festive flower arrangements and treats.

Tiniest Empire Cupcakes will be cooking up the ceremonial curlicue and The Adventures of Anabelle Lyn band adds their musical flair. The event begins in line with the Gallery Hop at 6 p.m.
