TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Florida State is climbing higher in a new national ranking of public universities.
The 2019 U.S. News & World Report just released its "Best Colleges" rankings.
FSU improved 7 spots landing at 26th in the country among public universities.
Since 2016, Florida State has jumped 17 spots overall. President John Thrasher says the higher ranking does a lot to help the
"It helps attract new facility," said Thrasher. "It helps attract the brightest students that we want to have here, and it certainly gives the legislature and the people who fund higher education in the state of Florida some understanding that they are getting a retrun on their investment, because we are moving up in the rankings."
Thrasher said the next goal for FSU is to break into the top 25. Four other Florida public universities made the top 100.
