TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- A new world record may be set in Franklin County Saturday.
This weekend marks the 2nd annual Paddle Jam, a festival in Apalachicola and St. George Island celebrating kayaking and paddle sports.
Organizers are trying to set a new Guinness Book World Record for "Largest Floating Kayak Raft." The current record is 3,150, set last year in New York.
On Saturday, the goal is to have more than 3,500 kayaks at the confluence of the Apalachicola River and Apalachicola Bay. Boaters will link arms -- or paddles -- and raft together for 30 seconds.
The attempt starts at 3 p.m. Saturday. Click here to register and learn more about Paddle Jam's events, which kick off Friday.
