FRANKLIN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - The Franklin County Sheriff's Office has raised almost $1,000 for cancer awareness.

Last month, deputies participated in "No Shave November" for a $25 donation to raise awareness about cancer.

During October, all deputies donated $10 toward the purchase of pink badges for breast cancer awareness.

The total funds raised from both efforts, $875, were sent to a local cancer benefit, Tonya's Hope.

Tonya's Hope helps Franklin County residents who are battling cancer. The organization began in 2010 and has helped over 200 people in memory of Tonya Bridges.

FCSO gave a special thanks to Kathy Ingersoll for her dedication to the charity and the people of Franklin County.
