TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)--Leon County deputies are on the look for four people for their part in a counterfeit check ring.

The checks totaled more than $4,200.

Deputies say eight people passed nine fake checks at different Publix supermarkets throughout Tallahassee all drawn from the same business account. This happened over a ten day period in June and July.

Tammye Mickens, Tyshay Martin, Laquisha Sutton, and Demeterica Bryant are wanted.

Helen Anderson, Andrew Bivins, Maggie Gibbs, and Shelvis Jones have all been arrested.

The financial crimes unit at the Leon County Sheriff's Office is asking businesses to monitor their accounts. This incident was caught early on by the business owner who noticed fraudulent transactions on their account.
