Four Arrested in Monday Valdosta Murder Case

VALDOSTA, GA (WTXL) - Four people have been arrested in connection to a Monday shooting death in Valdosta.

According to the Valdosta Police Department, Brian Sutton, Johnny Slocumb Jr., Kelvin Latchie, and Daryn Wooten were all arrested as of Wednesday and booked in the Lowndes County Jail.

Police say 19-year-old Latchie is charged with felony murder for the death of Lenton Swint and the others are charged with party to the crime of felony murder.

Police add that the shooting was not a random act of violence and did involve illegal drugs.

Swint was found suffering from a gun shot wound on Monday at his home on Cherokee Street. While police were investigating the shooting, Swint died from his injured at the hospital.

The original report from police provided information from a friend of Swint, saying the two walked to Swint's home where two men were standing in the yard, asking to speak with another resident.

Shortly after, Swint's friend told police they heard a knock at the door and a gun shot.
