CLEARWATER, Fla. (AP) — Police say a Georgia man has died after a shooting in Clearwater.
Police spokesman Rob Shaw says the shooting "was not a random incident."
According to Shaw, a woman who was an acquaintance of the 31-year-old victim has been identified as the suspect. Police are interviewing her.
Shaw says the shooting happened Sunday night after two separate confrontations between the man and the woman. The second confrontation occurred at her home.
Police have withheld the victim's identity, pending notification of his family. Shaw says the man died at a hospital about an hour after police arrived at the scene.
Homicide detectives are investigating.
