TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)-- Thousands of new Florida State University students took the pledge Sunday afternoon during the university's 2015 Convocation Ceremony.
The required ceremony marks the students' entrance into the life and traditions of Florida State.
Students were welcomed by the president, academic deans and current student leaders.
After the ceremony they were able to meet FSU President John Thrasher and his wife while enjoying some Seminole spirit. The convocation celebrates the history of the university's academic community and calls upon students to embody the values in the school's seal of strength, skill and character.
A few students shared that they're looking forward to the football season and sorority life.
