TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - Florida State University Officials say they have suspended the school's chapter of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity after an investigation into hazing allegations.

FSU says this means the group cannot, "...function as a fraternity or participate in any events on or off campus, host chapter meetings, use university facilities, have any further contact with pledges and other restrictions."

Officials say the hazing complaint was made in January on the school's hazing website. FSU police launched an investigation into the complaint where a TKE member told them he had waited until he graduated to make the complaint about hazing that had happened several years prior.

"He reported such incidents as pledges having to participate in a drinking game called "Old South" in which they were made to act as slaves while serving drinks to members; being required to steal traffic cones and then clean them for hours; and being blindfolded and driven to Thomasville and Ocala where they were told to return to Tallahassee on their own without phones or wallets," said FSU officials.

No criminal charges could be brought against Fraternity members because, according to FSU, too much time had passed under state laws. The university said they will still see if the students violated the school's code of conduct.

“By taking quick action to condemn this kind of activity, we are sending a clear message that Florida State University has no tolerance for hazing and abhors racism in any form," said FSU President, John Thrasher.
