TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Governor Ron DeSantis announced that flags will be flown at half-staff in honor of a Florida Highway Patrol trooper killed in Orlando.
On Sept. 27, FHP Trooper Tracy Vickers passed away while on-duty due to a tragic accident. Vickers had been with FHP for four years, serving as a field training officer. Trooper Vickers was also a Navy veteran.
DeSantis directed that flags of the United States and the State of Florida to be flown at half-staff at the Orange County Courthouse in Orlando, Florida, the City Hall in Orlando, Florida, the Florida Highway Patrol Headquarters in Tallahassee, the Florida Highway Patrol Regional Office in Orlando and the State Capitol in Tallahassee from sunrise to sunset on Oct. 3.
