TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Florida Gov. Rick Scott and the three members of the state Cabinet are expected to discuss how top state officials should be hired and fired.

The discussion comes amid an ever-widening scandal over Scott's decision to oust the head of the state's main law enforcement agency.

Scott insists no one did anything wrong. But questions have arisen after the former head of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement says he was pushed out after resisting potentially unethical requests.

By law, the FDLE commissioner reports to Scott, as well as the three elected Cabinet members.

Scott and the Cabinet are meeting Thursday at the Florida State Fairgrounds.

They are expected to discuss how to handle future personnel decisions. Scott has already said he wants to replace other state officials.
