MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL)-- The Florida Department of Environmental Protection is giving the city of Midway a $75,000 dollar grant.
The grant will allow the city to survey septic tanks in three of its neighborhoods as well as help officials assess the severity of septic tank failures in the Rustling Pines, Orion Point, and Hill Top subdivisions.
The results of the survey will allow the city to find a cost estimate for converting almost 100 homes to a waste water collection system, which is much better for the environment.
The project is expected to be completed in 2015.
