TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- It's all about getting ready for the future! The Tallahassee Police Department, along with 'AMWAT Moving Warehousing' and the 'Chamber of Commerce' were hosts of the "Fill-A-Truck for Florida" event today.
Second Harvest of the Big Bend will be taking in the donations, and storing them, for current and future disasters in our area. They are asking for non-perishable items and cash donations. Every dollar is equivalent to 4 meals and they raised 700 dollars by lunch time today.
Jay Revell, Vice President of Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce, stated "The great thing I love about our business community is every time we put the call out for them to step up and help people, they are always people calling us off the hook."
The event will be going on until 6:00 tonight on Park Avenue and Calhoun Street.
