FRANKLIN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A convicted felon from Tallahassee faces drug and other charges after a state trooper saw his car too closely following another vehicle.
Jimmy Quintero, 24, was arrested Sunday when a Florida Highway Patrol troper conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle on US-98 in front of Summer Camp.
Quintero told the trooper he did not have a driver's license, according to an FHP news release.
The trooper said that Quintero "was nervous and was showing signs of criminal activity."
Searching the car, the trooper said he found a loaded AK-9 MM Luger pistol in the right floorboard under a towel, 81 grams of an unknown plant material, 2 grams of marijuana, 8 grams of a white powder substance, a digital scale and a box of 9mm ammunition
He faces charges of possession of firearm by a convicted felon, possession of less than 20g and following too closely.
