TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) – Floridians are still feeling the effects of their homes damaged by Hurricane Michael.
Now, FEMA and home improvement stores in Bay and Leon counties are teaming up to provide free information on how homeowners can make their homes stronger and safer.
FEMA specialists were on hand Thursday to answer questions and offer home-improvement guidance with proven methods to prevent or reduce damage from future disasters.
"We feel that it important to go out to the communities and go to the people who need help the most instead of waiting for them to come to us we want to make sure that people who are not always in areas that's accessible to this type of information that we give them that opportunity," said FEMA representative, Danielle Mallory.
FEMA specialists will be on hand to answer your questions through Wednesday Dec. 5, at the Lowes Home Improvement Center on Commonwealth Boulevard from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Except on Sunday.
