TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the Florida Department of Health, wants to remind you how important it is to get your yearly exam.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, most breast cancers are found in women 50 years of age and older.

Lynn Vinson, with the Florida DOH, says the best way to prevent breast cancer is to get screened early.

"Breast Cancer is one of our top 10 cancers in the united states and so it's very important that we continue to remind our community such as woman and men about early detection of breast cancer," said Vinson.
