(WTXL) - The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is seeking information which will lead to the identification of an unknown man.

Agents are calling the unknown man John Doe 40.

He is believed to have critical information about the identity of a child victim in a sexual exploitation investigation, according to police.

Investigators say John Doe 40 can be seen in a video with a child and could be heard speaking English in the video.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children first noticed the video in October 2017, and it is believed the video was produced before that date.

John Doe 40 is described as a white male aged 30 to 40 years old, heavyset with dark colored hair.

He is being sought as part of the FBI’s Operation Rescue Me and Endangered Child Alert Program (ECAP) initiatives, both of which are partnerships between the FBI and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

No charges have been filed in this case as of now.

Anyone with information should call the FBI tip line 1-800-225-5324.
