FAMU kicks off Black History Month with a 'photographic walk'

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Students at Florida A&M University kicked off Black History Month.

Photojournalist Fred Watkins was the guest speaker Tuesday night for the Knight Chair Speaker Series titled A Photographic Walk Through History.

Watkins is a renowned editorial photographer who has covered political and historical events and celebrities for more than 35 years.

He had the opportunity to travel with former President Bill Clinton and South African revolutionist Nelson Mandela.

Watkins shared his advice for those who want to follow in his footsteps.
