Family dog dies in house fire in Tallahassee

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Tallahassee Fire Department says they fought a house fire on Sprinil Road at about 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

The first arriving crews reported heavy fire and smoke conditions. Leon County Sheriff’s deputies say a person was hurt escaping the fire.  Paramedics took the person to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 

After searching the single-story home, crews found out the family dog died in the fire.

The fire caused an estimated $30,000 in damage. The cause is still under investigation. The American Red Cross was contacted to assist the occupants.
