TALLAHASSEE, FLA. (WTXL) -  Officer Darren Wilson has officially stepped down from the Ferguson Police Department. Wilson said he is scared for his safety.

The death of Michael Brown inspired months of protests. Less than a week ago, grand jury said Wilson was justified in killing brown.

After the decision, people protested across the country including here in Tallahassee. The local dream defenders chapter say this isn't enough, they still believe justice needs to be served.

In Wilson's resignation letter, he said he doesn't want to put more police officers at risk. He says he still wants to be a police officer -- just not in Ferguson.
