TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - One child was hospitalized after a Leon County school bus was involved in a crash on Tram Road at Capital Circle Southeast Monday afternoon.

The Florida Highway Patrol says it happened Monday around 4:20 p.m.

Troopers say Christopher Goodrum, 36, was distracted and failed to observe a red light, causing him to crash into the side of the school bus.

A total of 11 students were on board during the crash. Leon County EMS assisted on scene and transported one student to the hospital with minor injuries.

Other students were rerouted with another school bus.

While Goodrum was uninjured, an adult female passenger with him suffered minor injuries.

Goodrum has been cited for failing to obey a traffic control signal.

This is the second Leon County school bus to be involved in a crash on Monday. The first happened around 2:30 p.m. on Capital Circle Northeast and Alexis Lane.
