TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A disabled CSX train that was blocking three railroad crossings in Tallahassee Thursday afternoon has been moved.

In a statement, CSX says:

“A CSX train stopped in Tallahassee today after experiencing a mechanical issue. CSX apologizes for the inconvenience this caused the surrounding community. We work hard to avoid these situations and to keep trains moving efficiently to their destinations. CSX worked as quickly as possible to identify the issue and perform repairs so the train could safely continue on its way. We were also in communication with local police to keep them updated on the situation.”

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Tallahassee Police Department says a disabled train is blocking traffic on several streets on the Southside.

Police say the Adam Street train tracks and the tracks across Railroad Avenue are obstructed by a disabled CSX train car.

The disabled train is also blocking the railroad crossing Wahnish Way and South Gadsden Street.

All north and south bound traffic at these locations will be blocked until the train can be removed. Officials are actively working to remove the train.

TPD is reminding you to keep the blockage in mind as you travel, especially near FAMU.

This isn't the first time this has happened with a CSX train in the area. On June 16, a disabled CSX train shut down Railroad Avenue and Wahnish Way for several hours.

This is a developing story. Stay with us for updates.
