DUNEDIN, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say Tampa Bay area deputies fatally shot a man armed with a knife.
The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office reports that deputies responded to a Dunedin mobile home park Monday night but left after a woman told them everything was fine. Deputies responded to the home again several hours later and reported finding 34-year-old Michael Case inside with a knife.
Officials say one deputy repeatedly told Case to drop the knife while backing out of the home. Two deputies then confronted Case outside and continued to tell him to drop the knife. The deputies say Case continued to move toward them, and they opened fire.
The deputies have been placed on administrative leave, which is standard procedure while a shooting is investigated.
