SUWANNEE COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - The Suwannee County Fire Rescue responded to a fatal head-on crash involving a semi.
Officials say that they went out to the scene at County Road 132 around 3 p.m.
Crews say the head-on crash involved a semi-truck and a Honda Civic.
As of 3 p.m., one person was entrapped and one person was killed.
Reports say Russell Albert Thom III was driving the Civic and failed to yield to the semi. His car was hit on its left side. After the impact, the semi overturned and landed on the south shoulder of CR 132.
Thom died in result of the crash.
The driver of the semi was taken to Shands UF of Gainesville with serious injuries.
Charges are pending.
