WAKULLA COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A Wakulla County woman is urging others to keep an eye out for those who may be drinking too much this Labor Day weekend.

Nikki Smith said she was at Shell Point Beach Aug. 25 when two men in a golf cart drove over her leg, pinning it underneath.

"They were too intoxicated to put it in reverse and get off of me," said Smith.

No broken bones, but a few bruises and you can even see the tire marks.

Smith said she's sure the men were drinking and not only that, they had a child with them.

"When I mentioned, 'You got a toddler on here. Are you drunk? Are you kidding me? You just ran over my leg.' And I pulled my phone out, and they took off running," said Smith.

Smith's friend Lynda Brahier posted about the incident on Facebook. She said someone has to know who these guys are.

"The video has been watched so many times, and the post has been shared so many times, I know that there somebody that recognizes them," said Brahier.

Smith says she's thankful no children were hurt, but with a holiday weekend coming up, she wants parents to be alert, no matter where they are.

"If you see somebody intoxicated on the beach, on a four-wheeler, on a golf cart, or even walking, you need to let somebody know," said Smith.

Smith reported the incident to the Wakulla County Sheriff's Office. The case is now in the hands of Florida Highway Patrol, since it's being handled as a hit-and-run.

We've reached out to FHP to see if there's any update to the investigation or if the men have been identified.

We have yet to hear back.
