TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Florida State University unveiled a new Civil Rights Institute on Thursday to commemorate and study the U.S. civil rights movement and to promote social change.
The event featured acclaimed civil rights speaker Desmond Meade.
The institute will host speakers and events, curate museum exhibits, and develop an interactive website and publications.
FSU alumni Fred and Doby Flowers were both instrumental in shaping the new institute.
