TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The City of Tallahassee is offering free sandbags to the community as it continues to monitor the weather.

Officials say that they are opening sandbag locations to assist citizens with preparing for heavy rainfall and potential flooding.

There will be sandbags available at the following locations:

  • James Messer Park South (2830 Jackson Bluff Road
  • Winthrop Park (1601 Mitchell Avenue)

The only thing you are asked to bring is a shovel to fill the bags yourself. Locations will not be staffed, but crews will monitor and provide additional sand and bags as needed.
