MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) - The city of Midway is set to approve its budget for the next fiscal year.

Residents will have one more chance to sound off in a meeting at City Hall.

The proposed budget for the 2018 fiscal year is two and a half percent smaller though there seems to be a tax increase. Officials say that's already been approved and Monday night's meeting is to make it official.

The city manager told WTXL this afternoon that an error was made in publishing the proposed budget, so Monday night, the city council will go over all of the expenses as well as hear from any citizens who want to share their concerns.

The biggest expense coming from the general fund is debts more than $330,000 budgeted for that.

Administration and police operating each will cost just under $200,000, followed by public works at just under $150,000. The city declined our request to learn more about the budget.
