TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - For National Preparedness Month, Leon County and the City of Tallahassee are working together to make sure residents will be prepared in an emergency.
According to a joint press release from the two governments, "The goal is that, by the end of the month, all Big Bend residents will have the information and tools they need to prepare for emergency situations."
Every week throughout the month will focus on a different topic including flooding, hurricanes, wildfires and power outages.
In order to see what residents learned, two free online tests will be offered on September 30 that will present disaster scenarios and see how residents will respond to them.
Anyone interested in participating in the tests can register by clicking here.
You can also learn more by going to the Leon County Emergency Information Portal or the City of Tallahassee Emergency Management page.
