TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- Although marijuana is legal for medical use in Florida, the movement to fully decriminalize cannabis is an effort than dates back to the early 1970's.
Members of the local Tallahassee chapter of NORML gathered today to discuss and promote the status of federal and state legalization. The legalization of cannabis is a topic of debate. Religious organizations in the Big Bend believe it to be immoral to use marijuana.
Medical use in Florida became law in June 2017, but NORML is fighting for adult personal use of the substance. Their goal is to get cannabis into legislation where retailers are free to sell products.
