TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A man has been arrested after police say he flew 48 pounds of marijuana from California to Tallahassee.

According to a press release, on Saturday the Tallahassee Police Department received information that William Godette, 41, was flying to Tallahassee with a large amount of cannabis in his luggage.

Police received this information from the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department in California after agents found numerous vacuum sealed bags of cannabis belonging to Godette during a TSA screening process.

When Godette arrived in Tallahassee, police searched his luggage and found that he was in possession of approximately 48 pounds of cannabis.

Godette was arrested and taken to the Leon County Detention Facility. He is facing charges for trafficking marijuana and narcotic equipment possession.
