TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A staple in the Tallahassee community is making a grand return.
The historic club is back up and running, showing that even a 250-year-old oak tree isn't enough to shut down the juke joint.
On any given weekend night, you'll hear the sweet sounds of the blues pouring out of the club.
"You can come and hang out and just hear some of the best music," said Brett Wellman. "The greatest music in the area, I'm sure and some of the best music in general out here."
Current artists like Brett Wellman and the Stone Cold Blues Band join the likes of blues artists like Bobby Blue Bland to grace the stage.
But for short while there was nothing after Subtropical Storm Alberto sent the tree crashing through the roof of the historic joint.
A question many were left wondering was would the place ever reopen.
But only a little more than a month later, club owner Kim Anton is opening the doors once again.
"If it wasn't for everybody in the community pitching in and helping, we wouldn't be open," she said.
After raising $29,000 through Go Fund Me and another $20,000 during a benefit concert, the doors are reopening.
"It's just amazing, I mean, look at the building," she said.
