TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - The body of a murder suspect and former Florida State University student from Ormond Beach was found in Tallahassee.

According to the Ormond Beach Police Department, the body of Garrett Schroeder, 22, was found by the Tallahassee Police Department and U.S. Marshals early Tuesday.

Police say the warrant was issued for Schroeder after a body was found in his father's home in Ormond Beach on Friday. Schroeder was seen leaving the home when the body was discovered, according to police.

An autopsy is currently being done on the Ormond Beach body to determine who the victim is, says police. Schroeder's father has not been seen since two days prior to the body being found.

Ormond Beach Police say they asked the Tallahassee Police Department to search for Schroeder's car, a Maroon 2006 Eclipse because Schroeder was a student at Florida State University. FSU confirmed that Schroeder was enrolled from 2011 until 2013.

Tallahassee Police told the Ormond Beach Police Department they found a match for Schroeder's car Monday night. Police waited to see if he would return and when he did not, they searched the area.

Police say they found Schroeder's body suffering from a self-inflicted gun shot wound Tuesday morning.
